Our Flagship Wine: The Heart of the Polkadraai Hills

Introducing the flagship of our estate. The Karibib Estate Syrah is our finest expression of the vintage and the wine we consider to be the ultimate showcase of the iconic Polkadraai Hills terroir. Crafted from three distinct vineyard blocks on our farm, this is a wine of incredible complexity, elegance, and energy.

Following a minimal-intervention philosophy, this Syrah was naturally fermented with 50% whole grape bunches to enhance its aromatic spice and build a silky, structural frame. It was then matured for 12 months in large, seasoned French oak barrels, a process that allowed its deep character to evolve while preserving its vibrant, focused nature.

Tasting Experience:

  • Nose: An captivating perfume of dark plum, violets, and a hint of milk chocolate, beautifully layered with the signature Syrah spice of crushed black and green peppercorns.

  • Palate: The palate is savoury and sophisticated, with concentrated flavours of ripe plum, black olives, and a dusting of spice. The tannins are remarkably soft and fine, leading to a vibrant, energetic finish that lingers with focus and precision.
